Woodward Head Football Coach Announces Resignation
Darris Servis, head football coach at Woodward High School since 2011, announced his resignation as coach on Tuesday.
“Coach Servis is a 26-year veteran coach who is committed to the success of his kids both on and off the field,” said Kyle Reynolds, Woodward Superintendent. “We appreciate his passion for the game and his dedication to the students and community,” said Reynolds.
Woodward Athletic Director, Andy Newby said the search for a new football coach will begin immediately. “Coach Servis has been a dedicated football coach here at Woodward for over 26 years, including his time as assistant coach on the 1994 State Championship team. Every coach off of the 1994 State Championship team has served as a Head Coach at different schools across the state.” Newby said, “He has helped keep Boomer Pride and tradition alive as an assistant and head coach during his tenure.”
Coach Servis is committed to the legacy and tradition of Boomer football. “I’m ready to hand over the reins and am excited to see what the future holds for this program,” said Servis.
