The Poetry Unit is big and may take a bit to load.  Much of the formatting was lost in the conversion to HTML, but you get the idea.  If you have WinZip and Word 97, E-mail me, and I’ll send you a zip file.

The Film Study unit is pretty basic, and the kids at first thought that they were going to have “blow off” time in class just to watch movies.  But we did this toward the end of the year, and they were able to apply many of the critical thinking/analysis skills we had applied to literature to the movies we watched in class.

From my experience as a teacher and a student, I was well aware of how easy it is for students to fake a traditional book report by just copying one from someone else or getting the information from the front cover of the book.  So I found an idea from another teacher on the net, refined it a bit, and started using this Book Report Projects instead.  You can also adapt many of these projects to other lessons.
