Revised Calendar
On Monday, April 9, 2018 the Woodward Board of Education voted to revised the 2017-2018 District's Calendar. Early release at all sites and late start at the High School has been suspended for the remaining school year. The High School will also add five minutes to the remaining days. By Oklahoma Statutes each school site must complete 1080 hours of instruction, Parent-Teacher Conferences and Professional Development. These changes will allow the district to bank one additional day in case of a future school closing. The scheduled days will not change only the times.

Donations Needed
Insurance for student iPads and Chromebooks can be a tremendous burden on some of our neediest families. We have a fund that allows for donations to be dispersed to these families. Anyone wanting more information on how they can help can contact Kim Williams at 580-334-8277. We are always so thankful for the many generous donations we receive all across our district!
Join Our Team at Woodward Public Schools
WPS is looking for highly qualified, caring educators to join our team. Woodward Boomers have a longstanding tradition of excellence in academics and extracurricular competitions, and we are continuing that tradition today by modernizing our operations and instruction through technology integration and leveraging Professional Learning Communities philosophies and practices. As we complete construction projects from our recent $29 million bond issue (which passed by 80%!), we are already looking to the horizon to identify the next steps in our long range plans to continue to construct and maintain first class facilities for our learners.
Woodward is the hub of Northwest Oklahoma, with a creative, progressive and aggressive approach to “Moving Forward” with economic growth and development and quality of life. As we are coming out of the downturn in the energy industry, there is certainly a buzz around town! Check out our amazing City parks complex with everything you can think of from a beautiful water park and all new athletic facilities to mini-golf next to a full size course. Our conference and convention center is a great setting for everything from first class weddings to conferences with nationally renowned keynote speakers. You can take in one of the state’s oldest and biggest rodeos at our arena, or take in a movie or two at the Lakeside 6 digital theaters. We’re never bored and always “Moving Forward” as a community.
The Pioneer Spirit that settled this sometimes rough and unforgiving landscape is alive today, and the result is a small-town caring community with the right big city amenities.
Give us a look, and you’ll soon find out why our school motto is, “Once a Boomer, Always a Boomer!”
